Tax Return

Why do you create such dissonance for me? There are so many irresponsible things to do with you and so many options for the "right" thing to do? I know, waaa, right?

Let's Take a Poll, what should we do with our tax return? A portion will be tithed and a portion is already paying for Jason's non-traditional licensure program & Praxis III. So, here are the options. You'd be amazed what you can get back when you have two kids in one year! What do you say?

1) Purchase used car or van since we only have one vehicle and it could not fit another child in it if we had one (granted, it probably wouldn't be a super nice one with what we could afford and it would increase our monthly bills w/gas & insurance costs)

2) Pay off all of our credit cards and put the rest in savings (therefore reducing our monthly bills)

3) Half on credit cards, 1/4 in savings, 1/4 on home improvements

4) Pay back family members money we have borrowed with a "pay back when you can" line of credit...not that we could entirely, but a good chunk.

4) Vacation, clothes, a tv for the bedroom, patio furniture, yard beautification, knitting class/supplies, buy my mom a plane ticket to visit us, new running shoes, you know, all that jazz!

5) Some combination of the above..suggestions welcome.

head is saying #2 but really like the number 4 option!! I wish we were getting some back! Sean only helped us to not have to pay anything!

#2--It will feel SOOOO good. I promise. Get out from under the CC thumb. Take the money you save each month and put it in an interest bearing savings acct (if you need a referral to ING, I'll give you one and I'll get money too--you will get $25 just for signing up--we've had an acct there for 4 years--love it.).

We're dealing with this dilemma right now as well. I've got to go with number 1 or 2 (my top pick but a 2nd car would be a huge relief for you guys too)...though, I agree, 4 sounds great.

I just noticed there are two #4's I was referring to the fun sounding one, although the other #4 is important.....

I would say #2 and the first #4 (I think that was your sub-conscience trying to cheat by having two #4's, one of which is way more fun).

Just wanted to weigh in John's vote; he thinks you should pay back the family first.

These are great comments, suggestions. I will be sure and let you know what we decide! Thanks friends, and I guess I did cheat by having two number 4s, woops!
